We have recently become a re-seller for wide format Hansol Subli-Mate dye sublimation paper. A quality dye sublimation paper at a highly competitive price.
We made this decision after trying this wide format paper in our print studio. Given that this paper is very competitively priced, we were hoping that it would be comparable with the premium priced wide format dye sublimation paper we usually use. We were surprised when we discovered that the results were not just compatible, but better!
In the image below, we’ve used our usual, more expensive, premium wide format dye sublimation paper on the left, using the profile and settings we’ve worked on over a period of time to get the best overall results.
The image on the right, is without making any changes to profile or settings, printing on the more cost effective Hansol dye sublimation paper.
We did various other tests, and concluded that overall, we’re getting better definition, and more vibrant prints with the Hansol paper – hence we decided to swap over to this paper.
By the way, this is with an Epson Surecolour wide format dye sublimation printer, printing four colours.
The interesting thing is that when we first printed on the Hansol paper, prior to heat pressing, we weren’t impressed…
The paper we’re used to using (one of the most popular wide format dye sublimation paper brands) doesn’t change a great deal from the paper to the finished product. Obviously the image comes to life, the colours pop, as is always the case with dye sublimation printing – but with the Hansol paper, the transformation is quite a lot more obvious.
On the paper prior to pressing, it doesn’t look good at all to be honest, there’s banding, and it generally looks quite poor – but amazingly, once pressed, the image comes to life in all the detail expected from screen.
We’re currently offering this paper on 44″ rolls @ just £0.62 per metre plus VAT, vs the Texprint XP HR at £0.92 per metre. This is a saving of over 30%.
By the way, if you use wider dye sublimation paper, and if you’d be interested in using Hansol Sublimate, drop us an email, we can also source this paper on 60 inch rolls, which we will do if customers ask for the paper at this roll width.
We would highly recommend trying this paper, you may well find, as we did, that you end up with better print results at a lower cost!
